Trip Start-up

Broch of Gurness, prehistoric fort

Seems like a long time between trips and the Supsics are raring to go! We'll be heading to Scotland to revisit Edinburgh, a favorite city we first saw over 20 years ago, and to explore the Orkney Islands.

The Orkneys are located off the North Coast of Scotland and are renowned for their prehistoric ruins. In fact the Orkneys have been called the "Egypt of the North!"

Before we get into the details on this trip, we have some sad news to report.  Two of our good, close friends and travel followers have passed away recently.

Roman Fedorak
Roman Fedorak, pictured here was a co-worker of Frank's from 1971 till 1996.  Frank and a few other co-workers remained friends for many years after, engaging in luncheons and get-togethers up until January of this year.  Roman was a good and fun friend, and he will be sorely missed.

Phil Auerbach
Phil Auerbach, our good neighbor and friend here in the Poconos passed away in the latter part of 2016.  He was a fun friend too, with knowledgeable stories to add to our own stories.  We always enjoyed his company and conversations at the many social events we shared.  Another of our close friends that we will always remember fondly.

We would like to give tribute to these dear friends of ours, and dedicate our upcoming trip and blog to them in return for their many years of friendship, as well as for following us along in our many travels.  Bon voyage, Roman and Phil.  Maybe we'll be traveling together again sometime, somehow in another life!!
